Pastor Bruce Smith
Bruce Smith is the Chaplain of Toronto’s King Bay Chaplaincy.
A native of Gainesville, Texas, Bruce is a former team captain and all league all star with the Toronto Argonauts, of the Canadian Football League. He is also a member of the 1972 Grey Cup champion team the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Upon retiring from football, Bruce enjoyed a highly successful career in real estate before entering the ministry. Bruce works with “at risk” youth in the Toronto area and has been a strong youth advocate, identifying the issue of “fatherlessness” as one that must be addressed because of the adverse and sometimes devastating effect it has on the lives of young people. Bruce and his wife Shirley live in Toronto with their two children Courtne and Coby.
Phil Kershaw
A veteran Canadian business consultant, Phil has been actively involved in business, government, politics and professional sports in his thirty-five year career. Phil has served as the interim Commissioner and Chairman of the Canadian Football League, as well as president of two member clubs. The father of three grown children and the proud grandfather of five, Phil shares Pastor Smith’s passion for working with youth and his view that the problem of “fatherlessness”is a growing phenomenon that needs addressing in North America and around the world.
